To progress society, we must first do our part for the world around us.

This is who we are.
Our Core.
Abode in a Bundle is an effort to lift up the homeless in New York City with our own resources. We don’t need to make a grand gesture to make a difference. Using what we already have–our creativity, hands, and hearts–we can do our part just by sharing our time.
Our Steps.
To live up to our values, we are making care packages with hygiene products, clothing, food, and necessities. We afford these items with generous donations. Our special touch to these care packages includes artwork made by people in our community willing to be a part of change. Each care package is placed in a decorated recycled paper bag filled with words of encouragement, drawings, and colorful t-shirts/socks from our art gatherings. We set a time to package our care bags and hand them out together.
Our Mission.
We want to encourage the community to reserve time to lend a helping hand. Volunteering doesn’t have to be volunteering. A welcoming and fun atmosphere fosters new perspectives and connections. Our goal is to reduce the negative stigmas behind homelessness that may cause hesitation in reaching out. We’ll get to know our outside neighbors, understand their stories, and spread awareness. We hope to inspire others to start their own initiatives by demonstrating that all you need is a vision and a kickstart.

Alessia Gaetani
FOUNDER
Alessia Gaetani is a student at the University of Pennsylvania. She started Abode in a Bundle because she wanted to take part in relieving the homelessness she frequently saw in her New York City neighborhood. Alessia hopes that Abode in a Bundle will set an example for others to take action on what they care about. She specifically wants to highlight the steps she took to bring life to her ideas to encourage others to start their own projects. Any action, no matter how small, can leave an impact. Starting an effort isn’t as daunting as it seems.
